Seventeen years after arriving in Happy Valley, fans and foes alike know that Penn State head coach Robin Petrini has brought the Nittany Lions to a new level. Petrini’s vision of taking a below-average Big Ten team and building it into a force that expects a run to the NCAA tournament every year. In the past 13 years, Petrini has guided the Nittany Lions to eight appearances in the NCAA tournament, while her overall record stands at 473-403-2. Petrini owns the all-time mark for career wins by a Penn State coach and has the longest tenure of any PSU skipper.With a quality coaching résumé, top-notch Division I playing credentials and unbridled ambition, Petrini and her staff have rebuilt a program that hadn’t been to an NCAA tournament since 1985 when she took the 2000 Lion squad to the national tournament.

“We’ve established a standard and our expectation is that we get to NCAAs every year. Now we’re looking to improve upon that,” stated Petrini. “We’ve been to the NCAAs eight times. It doesn’t get any easier to accomplish that goal, but now we want to take it to the next level…”
