Cathy LaDuke (Provided photo) The girl who once tore up Rutland’s Little League baseball circuit is now as southern as a Waffle House or those Virginia landscapes she captures with her camera. Cathy LaDuke just completed her 31st year on the staff at Chatham Hall, an all-girls preparatory school for grades 9-12 in Chatham, Virginia. She has coached field hockey, softball and tennis there at various times and was also the athletic director. Her teams won conference titles and in 2004 the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association named her its Athletic Director of the Year. She credits her Rutland High coaches Rich Alberti and Sid Thompson for giving her the foundation for her success. She played basketball for Alberti and softball for Thompson. “They were all about team and having players play supporting roles. They really instilled that in me,” LaDuke said. “What I got from them was a great work ethic and teamwork. We worked well as a team.” Alberti got a good look at his future
